Samsung makes some amazing portable power products. Its fast charging power banks are among the best in the business. The company may be looking to expand its portfolio of these products, if a latest trademark filing is to be believed.
The company has filed paperwork to trademark “Samsung Superfast Portable Power,” possibly indicating the imminent arrival of new portable charging products for smartphones and other devices.
Samsung may be preparing new power products
The paperwork to trademark Samsung Superfast Portable Power was filed last week with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. As per the classification, the trademark term may be used for “Battery chargers for mobile devices; battery packs for mobile devices.”
Trademarks are generally sought to cover a wide range of possible use cases, thereby allowing the company to keep its options open with regards to product fit. For this particular term it's evident that Samsung may want to use it for power banks or chargers.
Perhaps the “Superfast” here indicates Samsung's impending embrace of even faster charging speeds? While the company hasn't been in a rush to go beyond 45W even as some of its Chinese rivals opt for faster speeds, maybe Samsung is finally coming around to the idea.
It's pertinent to note that this is just pure speculation at this point. It's also quite common for terms to be trademarked but never to be used in a product. So there remains a possibility of that happening as well. However, surely many Samsung fans would like to see new power products that live up to their “Superfast Portable Power” moniker.
