As a Christmas gift, Samsung released the Android 13 update to the Galaxy A13. The update is rolling out in various Asian and European countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Croatia, France, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and the UK.
The Android 13 update for the Galaxy A13 bears firmware version A135FXXU2BVL2 and brings One UI 5.0 to the smartphone. The update also includes the November 2022 security patch that fixes over four dozen security vulnerabilities. Since this is a major software update, you should prefer downloading it through a Wi-Fi network. You can download it by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install.
You can also choose to download the firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. Android 13 is the Galaxy A13's first major software update, and it could get two more such updates in the future.
Galaxy A13 Android 13 update: Top new features
The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy A13 brings a slightly revamped UI design, featuring the expanded Color Palette feature, bigger icons for notifications, better blur effects in the notifications area, more quick setting toggles, Stacked Widgets, and easier lock screen customization. The update also improves the phone's animation and transition performance.
Samsung has also updated all of its stock apps, including Camera, Gallery, My Files, Samsung Internet, and Samsung Keyboard. The Camera app has a slightly simpler UI, while the Gallery app offers better album customization and Stories. The phone also features an improved image and video editor. The update also brings kaomojis, new emojis, animated emoji pairs, and AR emojis to the Galaxy A13. The keyboard now offers spacebar row customization.
The update also adds a lot of accessibility features and a few new widgets. The Settings app now has the Connected Devices menu. The privacy and security sections of the Settings app have now been merged.
