Galaxy M42 5G gets One UI 5.1 update and its new features

Samsung is rolling out the One UI 5.1 update to its smartphones and tablets at a brisk pace. The Galaxy M42 5G is the latest mid-range phone from the company to get the One UI 5.1 update in India, and it brings some new features and improves the security of the smartphone.

The latest software update for the Galaxy M42 5G comes with firmware version M426BXXU4DWB1. The update has a download size of 996.31 MB and is available in India right now. The new software also brings the February 2023 security patch that fixes over four dozen privacy and security vulnerabilities. The update might be released in other countries within the next few days.

Samsung Galaxy M42 One UI 5.1 Update Changelog

If you are a Galaxy M42 5G user in India, you can download and install the new update on your phone right away. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

What's new with Galaxy M42 5G's One UI 5.1 update?

The One UI 5.1 update brings improvements to stock apps, including the ability to see and edit EXIF information of images and videos. The update also offers suggestions in the Settings app and a new battery widget to check the battery levels of the phone and connected accessories. You can choose where screenshots are saved.

There is a new dynamic weather widget. The Smart Suggestions widget offers recommendations for music and playlists from Spotify. Samsung Internet offers common search results from bookmarks and browsing history. The Weather app shows all the relevant information at first glance. It also has an hourly precipitation graph.
