If there's one app that Samsung is focusing on as much as it is focusing on the Android 14 and One UI 6 update, it's Good Lock. Good Lock and all of the customization apps that you can access via Good Lock have gotten regular updates over the last few weeks, and this week is no different.
The QuickStar app has received an update today, following a recent update that added official One UI 6 support to it. The latest QuickStar update comes with a fix for one of its best features.
Called Quick settings instant access, the feature allows quicker access to the expanded quick panel (the area above the notifications where you can control functions such as Wi-Fi, airplane mode, flashlight, and more). Usually, a single swipe down from the status bar at the top of the screen opens the notification shade, and another swipe reveals the expanded quick panel with all toggles.
QuickStar lets you change that to open the expanded quick panel with a single swipe, skipping the notification shade altogether. You can also customize which part of the status bar opens the notification shade and which part shows you all the toggles when you swipe down. On One UI 6, you can swipe down from the right edge of the screen to open the expanded quick panel, but QuickStar gives you finer control by letting you divide the swipe area by percentage.
It seems Quick settings instant access was broken for some users recently, perhaps once the app was updated with One UI 6 support, but the latest update, which bumps the version number up to 7.1.03.22, fixes that so you should be able to use the feature once again.
To download the QuickStar update, check out the Galaxy Store's Updates menu on your phone or tablet. The update may not be available for your device right away, but you can get around that by manually sideloading the new version of the app by downloading the installation file from APKMirror.
