Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ at a special event in New York today. The event lacked any major surprises as both these devices have been leaked extensively in the run-up to the launch. Though the leaks were on point, there was still some missing information that Samsung took care of at today’s event.
As usual, the latest Galaxy flagships come with either a Qualcomm or an Exynos chipset, depending on the market. The SoC is the same for both the Note 10 and Note 10+, but the two devices vary significantly in other areas. The plus variant has a larger and sharper display, more RAM, a bigger battery, MicroSD slot, etc. Unsurprisingly, it’s more expensive as well, starting at $1099 for the base variant in the US.
While the Galaxy Note 10+ is a definite upgrade over the Note 9, the same cannot be said unequivocally about the smaller model. In areas such as screen resolution, battery capacity, and storage expansion, the last year’s model fares better than the regular Note 10. This essentially makes the Plus variant the only real upgrade option for current Note 9 users. Galaxy Note 8 owners, however, will find plenty to like on either model.
You can find the official spec sheet for the Galaxy Note 10/10+ below and our hands-on impressions of the two devices here. It’s clear from the table that Samsung is pushing customers towards the larger and more expensive model by making the other option inferior in some key areas.
