Last updated: March 10th, 2021 at 09:06 UTC+01:00

Samsung's first device to get the March 2021 security patch was the Galaxy Note 10. Later, the company rolled it out to various smartphones and tablets, including the Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Tab S7, and Galaxy A8 (2018). The company has now released the latest security patch to the Galaxy Note 20 series.

The Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra have started receiving the March 2021 security patch in European markets. The latest software update, which bears firmware version N98xBXXS1DUC1, has a download size of 166.16MB. It is just a security patch update, and we expect it to bring only bug fixes and stability improvements. Apart from Google's own bug fixes, the March 2021 security patch fixes three critical vulnerabilities related to the Exynos 990 processor and 16 other fixes related to Samsung.

If you haven't received the update on your Galaxy Note 20 or Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in Europe, you can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings » Software Update and tapping on Download and install. We expect Samsung to release the latest security patch to the Galaxy Note 20 series in other markets in the coming days.

The Galaxy Note 20 series was launched in mid-2020 with Android 10 and One UI 2. Samsung released the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update to the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra three months ago. Last month, the smartphones also received the One UI 3.1 update with a few new features.
