Samsung is expected to unveil two new smartwatches running Wear OS 3 during its Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event on August 11. The Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic haven't been officially revealed yet, but their design and most of their specifications have been leaked already. Now, we've received marketing videos that reveal their features and UI design.
The videos reveal the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic branding. Going by the app launcher and the presence of Google Maps and other Google services, it is clear that they are running Wear OS 3 with One UI Watch on top. Both smartwatches appear to feature activity and workout tracking, a heart-rate monitor, sleep tracking, body fat composition, a compass, and an altimeter. They also feature blood pressure monitoring, ECG, SmartThings Find, and SpO2 monitoring.
They also appear to feature a lot of new watch faces. Some of them replicate mechanical watch faces, while others have funky fonts and widgets that show your activity goals and other pieces of information. Some of the watch faces appear extremely customizable using various backgrounds and widgets. The watches also feature Samsung Health, Bixby, and Google Play Store apps.
Both smartwatches will feature circular Super AMOLED displays, the Exynos W920 processor, 1.5GB RAM, and 16GB storage. They also have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, and Qi wireless charging. They also feature a microphone and a loudspeaker for taking calls and standard straps for customizations. The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic also features a rotatable bezel for UI navigation.
