Samsung started rolling out the November 2021 security patch to its smartphones in the last week of October. The Galaxy S21 was the first phone to get the new security patch, and it is now the Galaxy Note 20's turn to get the update. The new software update is currently rolling out in the UK.
The latest update for the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with firmware version N98xxXXS3DUJ6. Apart from general bug fixes and device stability improvements, the new update also contains the November 2021 security patch. According to Samsung's own documentation, the latest security patch fixes dozens of software vulnerabilities related to privacy and security.
If you are a Galaxy Note 20 or Galaxy Note 20 Ultra user in the UK, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file for your smartphone from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy Note 20 series in the second half of 2020. The devices in the series ran Android 10-based One UI 2.5 out of the box. The phones received the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update earlier this year and are currently running One UI 3.1.1.
