After impressing us all by releasing the stable Android 12 and One UI 4.0 update for the Galaxy S21 series less than a month after Google, Samsung is no doubt hoping to continue the streak with other eligible flagships. The Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 lineups joined the One UI 4.0 beta program last week in select markets, and Samsung has now opened up beta access to Galaxy S20 and Note 20 users in the United States.

Samsung had briefly opened up the beta program to Galaxy S20 owners in the US last week before pulling the plug, but the beta is now available for real. If you own an unlocked Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, Note 20, or Note 20 Ultra, you can hop on over to the Samsung Members app on the phone and tap the One UI Beta Program banner to join. Once enrolled, you should be able to download the first One UI 4.0 beta update (ZUK7) from the Settings » Software update menu within the next few minutes.

Since you're going to be installing unfinished software, remember to backup all important data before diving into the sweetness that is One UI 4.0. There are many, many new features in the Android 12 update for Galaxy devices – we've covered almost every single one in the video that you can check out below.

And if you're wondering when the final version of Android 12 and One UI 4.0 will be released for the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 smartphones, you can check out the One UI 4.0 roadmap in the Notices section of the Samsung Members app. Samsung is aiming for a January public release for its non-folding 2020 flagships in most markets, though that's subject to change and depends on how quickly Samsung can iron out all the bugs.
