Out of all the budget phones Samsung plans to release this year, the Galaxy M14 5G has been among the more elusive ones. The phone didn't get as many leaks as other upcoming devices, but now it's breaking cover. A series of seemingly official press renders have surfaced online, confirming the phone's color options and design.
The Galaxy M14 5G, according to these renders, has an Infinity-V display notch, thick bezels with an even thicker “chin,” three rear-facing cameras without a contour cut-out, and a unibody design, meaning that the back panel wraps around the phone's edges and covers the internal frame.
Samsung will release the Galaxy M14 5G in at least three color options, although availability could differ by market. The three colors for this budget phone are dark blue, light blue, and silver. (via The Tech Outlook)
A part of Samsung's plan to democratize 5G in India
Samsung India's Head of Product & Marketing confirmed earlier this month that the company will continue focusing on bringing more 5G phones to India this year, even though it won't give up on the 4G segment for the time being.
The Galaxy M14 5G appears to be a part of that plan to democratize 5G. The company released the A14 5G to India last week and said that the Galaxy A series has been a tremendous success. The M variant of the same device may hit the shelves for an even lower price than the Galaxy A14 5G (below INR 16,499 — $202).
The phone may also reach other markets besides India, but Samsung hasn't revealed any pricing or availability details. For now, the company is busy preparing to launch the Galaxy S23 flagship series on February 1. The Galaxy M14 5G may pop up in Samsung's stores at any moment without notice, but we'll keep you posted.
The first online benchmark for the alleged Galaxy M14 5G surfaced as early as November 2022. Back then, the benchmark hinted at features such as the Exynos 1330 chipset and Android 13 out of the box — likely with a simplified “Core” version of One UI on top.
