As more days pass in the month of February, Samsung is steadily bringing the latest security updates to Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The February 2023 security patch is the flavor of the month and has been released to devices like the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy S21 FE; today, another device can be added to the list.
Samsung has released a new Galaxy A52 5G update that bundles the February 2023 security patch (details here) and comes with firmware version A526BXXS2DWAB. The Galaxy A52 and the Galaxy A52s are also likely to join the party before we say goodbye to February, although that is just our assumption.
Galaxy A52 5G's latest update is all about security fixes
Like the Galaxy S21 FE update, the one for the Galaxy A52 5G has debuted in and is currently limited to Brazil, but we have no doubt Samsung will release the update in more countries in the days to come. As for the contents of the new Galaxy A52 5G update, the firmware version reveals that it only brings security fixes with it.
Thankfully, the Galaxy A52 lineup will get at least one more year of regular updates, including Android 14 and likely One UI 5.1, so it's not the end of the road for the Galaxy A52 5G and its siblings as far as the addition of new software features is concerned.
In any case, Galaxy A52 5G owners in Brazil can now download the February 2023 security update over the air from the phone's Settings » Software update menu or use firmware files available in our archive to upgrade manually using a Windows PC.
