Samsung released a beta version of Galaxy Enhance-X for the Galaxy S23 series today. At the same time, the company confirmed that it plans to release the app for older devices, including the Galaxy S22 series. But wait! Didn't Enhance-X debut on the Galaxy S22 last year?

Indeed, Samsung first released Galaxy Enhance-X for the Galaxy S22 in July 2022. So, even though Enhance-X is new for the Galaxy S23, it's old news as far as the Galaxy S22 series is concerned. However, Enhance-X has since disappeared and is no longer available for the 2022 flagship series. But Samsung will mend this and make things better for even more customers.

Fret not, Galaxy Enhance-X is coming Galaxy S21, Galaxy A!

Samsung did not explain why Enhance-X is no longer compatible with the Galaxy S22 series, but here we are today: The company has re-released the app through a beta version for the Galaxy S23 series. And thankfully, not everything is lost for Galaxy S22 users.

Through its Community forums, Samsung confirmed today that Galaxy Enhance-X should soon be compatible with the Galaxy S22 lineup again. How soon? The company didn't say, but when asked if Galaxy S22 users will have to wait for a new One UI update before they regain support for Enhance-X, a Samsung moderator confirmed that is not the case. According to the Community leader, Galaxy S22 compatibility will be added “as soon as possible.”

The Community manager said compatibility for other phones is not yet set in stone. However, the cherry on top is that, in theory, Samsung developers plan to release the Enhance-X app for as many phones as possible. The Community leader mentioned the Galaxy S21 series and the Galaxy A lineup as potential candidates for Enhance-X

In case you need a reminder, Galaxy Enhance-X is an AI-driven app that can remove unwanted blur from photos to bring objects back into focus, erase shadows, add HDR, and more. It's similar to the Gallery's built-in Remaster feature, except it's richer in options and offers more control over the processing tools available.
