By now, Samsung is probably the biggest supporter of the 2030 Busan Expo. Every few months or so, we hear more news on Samsung promoting Busan as the location for the upcoming 2030 World Expo, and most recently, the company went to Germany to do the same.
The annual Hamburg Port Festival, Europe's largest port festival, was held in Hamburg, Germany, from the 5th to the 7th of the month. And as you may have guessed, Samsung Electronics was there to push its bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo while promoting a few of its devices, such as the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
The Hamburg Port Festival is visited by more than 1 million people every year, so it was a great place for Samsung to raise awareness of the next World Expo coming in 2030 and its bid to make Busasn the host city. During the festival, Samsung showcased promotional videos on large screens while promoted the Galaxy Z Flip 4, its SmartThings platform, and more.
Samsung was also present at MWC 2023 in Barcelona earlier this year and says it is looking forward to pushing its bid for Busan World Expo at IFA in Berlin later this year.
The next big Unpacked event could be hosted in Busan
One of the most meaningful ways in which Samsung might choose to promote the Busan World Expo is by hosting its next major Unpacked event in that same city in Korea.
Rumors have it that the next Galaxy Unpacked won't be held in Europe, San Francisco, or New York but in Busan. Surely, this move would raise more awareness of the city and the upcoming 2030 World Expo than anything Samsung has done so far.
Wherever it will be hosted, the next Unpacked event is where Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 5, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, and the Galaxy Watch 6 smartwatch series. The company could also reveal a new Tab S9 tablet lineup at the event, assuming it doesn't do that earlier in the summer.
And speaking of early, the next Unpacked event could be hosted in late July rather than early August. The next-gen foldable phones and smartwatches may come to the market sooner than usual.
