Samsung is on a roll with adding the Digital Key feature to the Wallet platform. Last week, the company introduced the Digital Key feature to Samsung Wallet in Brazil, and now, the company turned its attention to another country from the Southern Hemisphere: Australia.

The Digital Key feature is now available for Galaxy device users in Australia, as long as they have a compatible BMW vehicle that supports keyless entry. As the name implies, the Digital Key feature in Samsung Wallet turns a Galaxy phone into a car key. Phones with UWB (Ultra-wideband) can unlock vehicles from a distance, while devices lacking UWB use NFC to unlock cars on contact.

The Digital Key feature requires Android 13, and more importantly, it supports the Galaxy S20 series (except for the S20 FE), the Galaxy S21 series (including the S21 FE), and of course, the newer Galaxy S22 and S23 flagships.

In addition, Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra users in Australia can use Digital Key, and so can Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Z Flip 3, Z Flip 4, Z Fold 2, Z Fold 3, and Z Fold 4 users.

Once again, for older phones to be compatible with the Digital Key tool, they're required to run Google's latest OS version. Thankfully, all the Samsung phones mentioned above have received the Android 13 update over-the-air or shipped with it out of the box.
