WhatsApp has been working on quite a few features. Most of these features are yet to go live for general users, while some are available for beta testers. Recently, WhatsApp's message editing feature went live for the global audience, and a few days ago, we reported that WhatsApp is working on a feature that will remind you to enter the password for your encrypted WhatsApp history backup to keep it safe.
According to new reports, WhatsApp is neatly redesigning the Settings menu and giving users a new, easier way to access it. Notably, the WhatsApp settings menu hasn't changed much over the years. It has gotten busier as the days have passed. On Android, you can access the settings menu by tapping the overflow menu on the top-right corner of the UI.
The redesigned WhatsApp settings menu is yet to roll out in the beta channel
However, as spotted by WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta v2.23.11.15, which is available on the Google Play Store, makes accessing the settings menu much easier. Meta has reportedly disguised the settings menu as your profile picture. This button sits just left of the overflow menu. So, you now have to perform one less tap to access the WhatsApp settings menu.
Moreover, when you tap on your profile picture icon/WhatsApp settings menu, you will be treated to a new settings menu page. There will be a large profile picture at the top center, below which there will be your account name. The QR code of your account is available on the profile picture, and all the other settings items are aligned a little more to the right.
As always, there is no confirmation on when Meta or WhatsApp intends to roll out this new WhatsApp settings menu feature. It is expected that since it is a redesign, WhatsApp will bundle this with another visual change in a single update.
