Galaxy Tab S9 to continue to feature 45W fast charging

Samsung is among those smartphone brands that aren't running after charging speeds. While most other brands have released phones with up to 240W fast charging, the South Korean firm is sticking to 45W fast charging even for its highest-end phones and tablets. And that isn't likely to change later this year with the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup.

The Galaxy Tab S9+ and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra have appeared in the TUV Rheinland database (via NashvilleChatterClass), a certification and testing firm. Both tablets have been certified for fast charging safety. The Galaxy Tab S9+ with model numbers SM-X816B, SM-X810, and SM-X816N was found listed, while the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra was found with model numbers SM-X916B, SM-X910, and SM-X916N. Both tablets appear to feature 45W fast charging (10V/4.5A), similar to their predecessors.

Knowing Samsung, the Galaxy Tab S9 series will likely come without a charger in the box. Although the base Galaxy Tab S9 hasn't been certified yet, it could also feature 45W fast charging, similar to the base Galaxy Tab S8 from last year. All three upcoming high-end tablets are expected to be unveiled later this year alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Going by leaked renders, the Galaxy Tab S9 series will use the same design as the Galaxy Tab S8 series. The upcoming high-end tablets will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy processor, 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB/512GB storage, and the magnetic S Pen stylus. All tablets will feature an OLED screen with a 120Hz variable refresh rate and a quad-speaker setup.
