It's been a few months since Samsung last updated the Galaxy A21, but a new firmware is finally rolling out. It brings the July 2023 security patch, and it's available for the Galaxy A21 in Canada.
Samsung is releasing the July 2023 update for the Galaxy A21 carrying model number SM-A215W. It's available for the Galaxy A21 from a variety of network operators, including Bell, Telus, Fido, Koodo, Virgin, Rogers, Videotron, SaskTel, and others.
The update doesn't bring any One UI changes to the Galaxy A21. As the A215WVLS7CWG2 firmware version suggests, it only consists of a newer security patch, i.e., the July 2023 release, which Samsung detailed almost a month ago.
The new update has been a long time coming
The July 2023 security patch fixes 90 security flaws, 52 of which concern Google software. But as usual, not every security issue addressed by the monthly security update has to do with the Galaxy A21 only. It's a general patch that addresses issues for many Galaxy phones and tablets.
Samsung should soon start to release the July 2023 security patch for the Galaxy A21 in more markets, but time will tell when that will happen. For now, Galaxy A21 users in Canada should be able to download the new update via the firmware section of our website if they prefer manual installs using a PC, or they can try to trigger the update by opening the Settings app on their phones, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.”
