In 2021, Netflix introduced games into the Netflix app for Android and iOS, offering people a new mode of entertainment on the platform, apart from movies and TV series, at no additional cost. Today, the company has announced that it is making games available in the Netflix app for TVs and on the web platform of the video streaming service, allowing people to play games on Netflix from their TVs, Windows PCs, and Macs.

According to Netflix, it is “rolling out a limited beta test to a small number of members in Canada and the UK on select TVs starting today, and on PCs and Macs through Netflix.com on supported browsers in the next few weeks.” Initially, there will be only two games available to play on these platforms: Oxenfree from Night School Studio, which is a Netflix Game Studio, and Molehew's Mining Adventure, which is a gem-mining arcade game.

To play games on Netflix on your TV, you will have to turn your smartphone into a controller by downloading the Netflix Game Controller app, which is already available in App Store and should arrive on the Google Play Store soon. As for playing games on Netflix using the web platform of the video streaming service, you can use the keyboard and mouse/trackpad connected to your Windows PC or Mac device as a controller, which is pretty convenient.

The service will be available only on selected platforms. Fortunately, Samsung smart TVs are included in the list of supported devices. According to Netflix, “Games on TV will also be available on Amazon Fire TV Streaming Media Players, Chromecast with Google TV, LG TVs, Nvidia Shield TV, Roku devices and TVs, and Walmart ONN. Additional devices will be added on an ongoing basis.
