Samsung may launch a new affordable tablet soon as an unannounced Galaxy device has been pictured by South Korea's SafetyKorea agency (via Roland Quandt). The device appears to be a small-sized tablet, and it has appeared several times in the past, but this is the first time its live image has appeared on the internet. Along with this tablet, Samsung may also unveil Galaxy Tab S9 FE and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ later this year.
First look at Galaxy Tab A9
The SM-X115 (model number) is expected to be the next affordable Galaxy Tab series tablet from Samsung. It could be named the Galaxy Tab A9, but that could change, and Samsung may choose a different name for the device. It is rumored to be the successor to the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. So, understandably, the tablet is expected to feature low-end specifications.
Going by previous leaks and reports, the Galaxy Tab A9 (2023) measures 210.7mm x 124.7mm and has an 8.7-inch screen. It is powered by a 5,100mAh battery, similar to the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. The tablet runs Android 13 out of the box and has Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5, and a USB Type-C port. Leaked schematics of the tablet also revealed that it will have a single rear-facing camera.
The Galaxy Tab A9 will come in both Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + Cellular (LTE) versions. It has a microSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack, but it may miss out on a fingerprint reader. Since the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has an HD resolution screen, it would be great if Samsung ups the ante by equipping its upcoming affordable tablet with a Full HD resolution display.
