Rumors around Samsung's upcoming smart ring have been making rounds of the internet for quite some time. It was rumored that Samsung is prepping up for the launch of its smart ring. Besides, in our earlier reports, some evidence of the Samsung smart ring was found in the Galaxy Wearable app. Well, as per the latest information, two of the most important details surrounding the smart ring have been revealed.
As per a report from 9To5Google, the latest version of the Galaxy Wearable app spills details of the name and launch date of Samsung's smart ring. After the APK teardown from the publication, Samsung will officially call its smart ring the Galaxy Ring, and it will be released sometime next year (2024). Prior to this, a South Korean forum spotted a design that gives us a rough idea of what the Galaxy Ring could look like.
Samsung is using the name ‘Galaxy Ring' to refer to the smart ring within the Galaxy Wearable app, which is the same name that the company trademarked in March 2023. The report also says that Samsung will install a separate app on the user's device as a plug-in with the Galaxy Wearable app. This app will bring more features and additional controls for the Galaxy Ring.
The Galaxy Ring is expected to be a health-tracking device. Some strings related to Bluetooth connectivity and how the messages will appear when you install the needed software were also found in the latest version of the Galaxy Wearable app. The Elec also reported that the South Korean giant has started the development of the Galaxy Ring.
