One UI 6, with Android 14 underneath, is beginning to roll out to quite a few Galaxy smartphones, and Samsung is likely going to keep updating more and more devices with the latest version of Android and One UI in quick succession going forward.
If you haven't received Android 14/One UI 6 yet, there are some preparations you can make to ensure everything goes smoothly when the update eventually arrives on your device. If your device has been updated to One UI 6, there's one important thing you should do: update all Samsung apps via the Galaxy Store.
The full One UI 6 experience needs updates to some Samsung apps
One UI 6 brings many new features and improvements to the user interface, and it also includes changes and new features for various Samsung apps. But the One UI 6 update itself is not enough. To see the changes in some Samsung apps and to be able to use their new features, you will also have to update those apps separately once Android 14/One UI 6 is up and running on your device.
To check for updates to Samsung apps, open the Galaxy Store and go to its Updates section (on some devices, Updates will be a tab at the bottom, and on others, you can find the option in the hamburger menu that's accessed by swiping in from the left edge of the screen). Tap the Update all button to start downloading and installing all available updates.
Samsung also publishes a few of its apps on the Google Play Store, so also check out the My Apps section of the Play Store for updates. It may take a couple of days for some app updates to show up on your device, so be sure to check again from time to time on both the Galaxy Store and Play Store.
