Several AI-powered features will debut with Samsung's first ‘AI Phone,' the Galaxy S24. Last week, some of those AI-powered features, including a wallpaper generator, were leaked. Today, one more interesting Galaxy S24 feature has been revealed, and it presents an important use case.
Galaxy S24 could feature an AI-powered voice recorder for meeting transcriptions
The Galaxy S24 series reportedly features a new search method. You can circle anything, and the phone will search for information about that. While the leak from tipster Ahmed Qwaider didn't explain the feature in detail, it could let users circle any subject or object in an image to know more about it via information from the internet. The stock Voice Recorder app can use AI to identify and tag up to ten people and convert their voices to text. This is great for anyone who attends lectures or a lot of meetings.
A similar feature is available on newer Pixel smartphones. However, it needs an active internet connection for transcription. The Galaxy S24 is said to feature on-device AI and the ability to transcribe or translate text and voice without an active internet connection. The phone will also be able to summarize text in apps like Samsung Notes. The Galaxy S24 reportedly also supports capturing images using 10x zoom in the Single Take mode.
The Galaxy S24 series is rumored to feature the Exynos 2400 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, depending on the model and the region. Regardless of the processor, the device will reportedly feature on-device AI processing for faster and more reliable AI performance. The Galaxy S24 series will likely be announced on January 17 in the US. Before the launch, you can watch our Galaxy S23 Ultra review as a recap in our video below.
