Microsoft is doing quite well in attracting more consumers with its Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud Gaming. In its latest move, Microsoft has launched Xbox Cloud Gaming for VR headsets from Meta. The popular cloud game streaming service is now available on the Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and the Meta Quest 3.

Meta and Microsoft announced this partnership during the launch of the Meta Quest 3 a few months ago. Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming is finally available on the Quest 3, along with older headsets, Quest 2 and Quest Pro. However, older headsets need to be updated to the latest software for the feature to work. Xbox Cloud Gaming is still in the beta phase, though, so there might be a few issues. Users need to be Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream Xbox games to Meta Quest headsets. They would also need to have an Xbox or other certified controller and a high-speed internet connection for the feature to work properly.

To access Xbox Cloud Gaming, users need to download the Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) app from the Meta Quest Store. Some of the popular games available include Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon 5, and Starfield. Users can enjoy games on a massive 2D virtual screen. They can also use full-color passthrough, so they're aware of their surroundings.

A weird limitation is that users can't use the Meta Quest headset's bundled controllers to play games on Xbox Cloud Gaming. Supported game controllers include the Xbox controller, Sony's DualShock 4 (PS4), and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. Support for Sony's DualSense controller, which comes bundled with the PS5, is coming soon via a software update.
