Samsung has been racing to the finish line with the rollout of the One UI 6.0 (Android 14) update for Galaxy smartphones and tablets. While the rollout has gone pretty smoothly for the most part, Samsung has found an issue in the One UI 6 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in Korea and has pulled it off the air.

Samsung says that a problem was discovered in the security patch that is included with the update. The company doesn't seem to have offered any details about the problem, but that's probably because it's related to device security and Samsung doesn't want it to be exploited before a fix is in place.

Samsung is hoping to release a fixed version of the One UI 6 update later this week but also says that a delay to next week is possible. For those who haven't yet updated to One UI 6, Samsung is also releasing a newer One UI 5.1.1 update that will need to be installed on the device before users can upgrade to the fixed One UI 6 firmware.

It remains to be seen if this will affect the release time frame for the One UI 6.1 update for Samsung's 2022 foldable flagships. One UI 6.1 will debut on the Galaxy S24 series later this month and could start rolling out to older devices by the end of January, though that's only speculation at this time as Samsung has yet to officially announce One UI 6.1.

When Samsung resumes the One UI 6 rollout, Fold 4 and Flip 4 owners will be able to download it by tapping the Download and install option in the phone's Settings » Software update menu.
