In December 2023, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab A9 Kids Edition and the Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G Kids Edition, which are special editions of the Galaxy Tab A9 and the Galaxy Tab A9+ respectively, customized for use by kids. Today, the company has launched the lower-end variant of the two, the Galaxy Tab A9 Kids Edition, in Malaysia.
How is it different from the standard Galaxy Tab A9?
The Galaxy Tab A9 Kids Edition is the same Galaxy Tab A9 that Samsung sells globally but it comes with the Kids Puffy Case and Crayon Stylus in the box, which make the tablet kid-friendly. The Kids Puffy Case has thick lips all around, which protect the device during drops and prevent the little ones from getting hurt by the tablet in case it accidentally falls on them. The Crayon Stylus, on the other hand, allows them to get creative in many tasks, such as drawing, while giving them a feeling similar to using a crayon.
You also get a 15W charging adapter in the box, which is something that you don’t get with the standard variant of the Galaxy Tab A9. That’s not all though, the tablet also comes pre-installed with the Samsung Kids app, which allows parents to create a profile for each kid and personalize that profile according to the little one’s requirements that they seem fit, including setting screen time limits, restricting access to certain applications, and monitoring online activities, which protects them from accessing inappropriate content.
