Samsung's foldable phones are in dire need of a camera upgrade, but that upgrade will not come with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 according to the latest rumor from the world of X/Twitter.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will reportedly have the exact same camera configuration as the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Everything from the primary rear camera to the under-display camera that sits below the foldable display is said to be unchanged, which is disappointing to hear.
It isn't unexpected, though, and it also doesn't mean that Samsung fans won't be able to get a foldable Galaxy phone with better cameras this year. Samsung is working on an Ultra model of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 that will likely have superior camera specs compared to the standard model.
However, there is no solid information on what those camera specs will be. It also remains to be seen how widely the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be available, as only a Korean Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra model has been spotted under development till now.
While the Z Fold 6 Ultra could come to other markets, a proper global release may not be on the cards, especially if the Ultra model comes attached with a price tag that's considerably more expensive than the standard Fold 6. The Fold 5 costs $1,799, which is already a lot of money, and Samsung probably won't find many takers if it asks $2000 or more for the Ultra model.
