Samsung usually starts rolling out a new monthly security update to its phones and tablets at the beginning of the month. However, the company started rolling out this month’s security update, the May 2024 security patch, in the second week of the month. That's because the brand is busy releasing the One UI 6.1 update. The tech giant started rolling the May 2024 security patch with conventional phones, and now it seems to be expanding the latest security update to foldable devices.
On Samsung’s Community forum for India, a post from a user that goes by ‘goodthings’ reveals that Samsung has started rolling out a new software update to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in India. It brings the May 2024 security patch to the foldable device, which fixes 45 security issues. We hope that the update also fixes the phone’s issue of excessive battery drain which was introduced with One UI 6.1. The size of the latest update is 441.54 MB and it changes the device's firmware version to F946BXXS2CXE2.
