Earlier this month, Samsung announced that it would launch the Galaxy F55 in India on 17 May 2024, which was yesterday. Surprisingly, the company didn’t make any announcement about the phone yesterday. The brand also didn’t say anything about why it didn’t launch the device as scheduled. Well, now we have some information on the matter.
According to reports from various publications, Samsung has postponed the launch of the Galaxy F55 in India by ten days and the brand will now launch the phone on 27 May 2024. At the moment, there’s no information about why Samsung has delayed the launch of the device. It’s not usual for smartphone brands to postpone a launch in this manner.
Samsung reveals Galaxy F55 features
On the brighter side, Samsung has listed the Galaxy F55 on the company’s official website for India and the webpage contains all the specifications of the smartphone.
Right before the now-postponed launch, Samsung revealed a few features of the Galaxy F55, which confirmed that it would be a rebranded Galaxy C55.
It meant that the aspects of the upcoming F-series phone about which Samsung did not reveal any details, were going to be similar to those of the Galaxy C55. In other words, we already knew all the specifications of the Galaxy F55.
However, now we have a confirmation about it, thanks to Samsung listing the phone on the company’s official website.
Galaxy F55 official specifications
According to the page, the Galaxy F55 features a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the smartphone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. You will be able to get the phone with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. There’s also a microSD card slot onboard.
Moving on to imaging, the Galaxy F55 features three cameras at the rear. The first is a 50MP wide-angle camera with OIS, the second is an 8MP ultrawide-angle camera, and the third is a 2MP macro camera. At the front, there is a 50MP camera for selfies. 50MP cameras on both sides can record 4K videos at 30fps.

The Galaxy F55 packs a 5,000mAh battery and can charge the battery at 45W. As you might expect, the phone has 5G cellular connectivity and supports two SIM cards. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi ax, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB Type-C port. You also get an in-display fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers. Although the company didn’t say this, the phone will come with Android 14-based One UI 6.1 out of the box.
Lastly, the Galaxy F55 has a back panel with a vegan leather layer on top. The Galaxy F55 measures 163.9 x 76.5 x 7.8mm and weighs 180 grams. According to the company, it is the “Segment's Slimmest Vegan Leather Smartphone Launch of 2024” and “Segment's Lightest Vegan Leather Smartphone Launch of 2024.” You will be able to get the phone in India in two color options: Apricot Crush and Raisin Black.
