Track child's Android phone using Google's Find My Device app

The Find My Device app from Google now lets you track devices children use in your family. Such devices can be found in the Family Devices tab inside the latest version of the app (v3.1.078-1). However, only supervised Google accounts (mostly used for kids) can be tracked with this new feature. If there are multiple such devices, they will appear alphabetically.

For this feature to work, the Google account used to set up that device needs to be linked to your Family Link account.

This feature came with a new update to the Find My Device app, but it is not the only feature. It is also being reported that the app has internal changes to support object location trackers (like the Galaxy SmartTag 2) that feature Ultra Wideband (UWB) connectivity.

The story continues after the video.

This new feature to track devices of supervised accounts was first spotted by Android Authority and then confirmed by X user @ArtemR. This is certainly a handy feature, and its usage will likely increase with the new version of the Find My Device app. Recently, Google announced new features for device and location tracking, including one that lets you remotely lock your lost or stolen device.
