At the ISE 2024 event in January this year, Samsung introduced the Interactive Display WAD series, an interactive whiteboard for educational institutions. Well, before launching the product, the company is upgrading it with more features. More specifically, the brand is charging the Interactive Display WAD series with artificial intelligence (AI).
At the Infocomm 2024 event in Las Vegas, Samsung is showcasing many commercial products, including the brand's first color e-paper display for showing advertisements. One of them is the Interactive Display WAD series that it introduced earlier this year. However, unlike back then, the product now offers several AI-powered features.
Samsung Interactive Display WAD series gets AI-powered features
According to the company, the Interactive Display WAD series can now automatically generate transcriptions of spoken lessons and also summerise those transcriptions to highlight key points by topic. Furthermore, it can analyze teacher’s transcriptions and content written on the display to generate quizzes for students. The product can even improve content accuracy and block inappropriate content using machine learning (ML).
Samsung has collaborated with Merlyn Mind, an educational technology company, to bring voice recognition technology for educational environments to the Interactive Display WAD series. According to the company, this feature will make it easier for teachers to control the product and “help tailor its functionalities to align with school-specific curricula.”

To reiterate, Samsung’s Interactive Display WAD series will be available in three sizes, 55-inch, 75-inch, and 86-inch. It features support for IR touch and 40 simultaneous touchpoints, four HDMI ports, four USB Type-A ports, one USB Type-B port, one USB Type-C port with 65W power output, and a LAN port. At the moment, there’s no information about when Samsung will make the Interactive Display WAD series available for purchase.
