Next month, Samsung will unveil two new wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 3 and the Buds 3 Pro. Ahead of their announcement, the company accidentally revealed their design, confirming a previous leak that revealed that they would have a new design that's similar to that of the Apple AirPods.
Samsung has listed the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro in the Galaxy Wearable app's diagnostics section, which lets you get help for issues you may be facing on your Galaxy wearables. The names of the earbuds are accompanied by an icon that reveals their stem design.
Samsung has also listed Galaxy Watch FE in there. But its icon is a generic one so there's nothing for us to learn. Not that Samsung is trying to hide anything anyway, as the company is already giving the Watch FE away as a free gift in some countries.
Galaxy Buds 3 design will include LED lights
The Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro will bring the biggest design change to Samsung earbuds yet. The Korean giant has once again taken inspiration from Apple, though there will be at least one major differentiating factor, at least on the Buds 3 Pro.
The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro will have an LED strip—called a ‘Blade Light—on each earbud. It's unclear what these lights will be used for, but we can assume Samsung will let us use the lights as visualizations when listening to music and for indicating battery status.
The stem will also provide functional benefits, including space for a bigger battery and better voice quality. However, just how much better those aspects will be compared to existing Galaxy Buds models remains to be seen.
Samsung's next Unpacked event will likely take place on July 10. The earbuds will be accompanied by new smartwatches and foldables and Samsung's first smart ring.
