The Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Fold 5G have started getting Samsung's latest security update in a few markets.
The latest software update for the Galaxy Fold comes with firmware version F900FXXS6FUK6, and it is currently rolling out in France. The new update for the Galaxy Fold 5G bears firmware version F907BXXS6FUK6, and it is available in the UK. The December 2021 security patch fixes various privacy and security-related vulnerabilities that Samsung listed in its documentation.
If you are a Galaxy Fold user in France or a Galaxy Fold 5G user in the UK, you might have already received a notification of the new update. If you haven't received it yet, you can manually check for the latest update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Fold 5G were launched in late 2019, and they came with Android 9 Pie onboard. Both devices received the Android 10-based One UI 2 update last year and the Android 11-based One UI 3 update earlier this year.
