The original Galaxy Z Flip started getting the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update two weeks ago. However, the update was limited to a few European countries. Now, Samsung has started rolling out the Android 12 update to the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Z Flip in the US.
The Android 12-based One UI 4.0 stable update for the Galaxy Z Flip (SM-F707U) comes with firmware version F700USQS4FUL9. The update is currently available on Sprint's network in the US, but more carriers could release the update over the next couple of weeks. The new update comes with December 2021 security patch that fixes various security vulnerabilities.
If you are a Galaxy Z Flip user in the US, you can check for the Android 12 update by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy Z Flip was launched in February 2020 with Android 10-based One UI 2. The smartphone received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in early 2021 and the Android 12-based One UI 4 update in the last week of December 2021.
