Samsung has released the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update to the unlocked models of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the US. Earlier, the update was only available for carrier-locked models in the country.
The Android 12 update for the unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 3 bears firmware version F711U1UES2BUL9 in the US. For the unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 3 variant in the US, the Android 12 update comes with firmware version F926U1UES1BULA. These new updates also bring the January 2022 security patch to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3.
If you are a Galaxy Z Flip 3 or Galaxy Z Fold 3 user in the US, you can check for the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. The One UI 4.0 update brings a revised UI design with Material You-inspired Color Palette feature, newer widget styling, improved widget picker UI, better Dark Mode, and more AoD options. Samsung has also improved all of its stock apps, Bixby, and Bixby Routines. Accessibility, privacy, and security features have been improved as well.
Samsung had released the One UI 4.0 update to its latest foldable phones in early December 2021, but the update was not released widely due to widespread bugs. Later, the company fixed most of those bugs and resumed the update to more markets.
