Samsung has started rolling out the June 2024 security update to the Galaxy S21 series. The update is currently available in Asia, Europe, and the USA. In the US, the update is rolling out for carrier-locked and factory-unlocked Galaxy S21 units.
Other regions could soon get the new security update.
Galaxy S21 gets June 2024 security update in Asia and USA
The new security update for the Galaxy S21 series is now available in some Asian countries, including Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Russia, Thailand, the Philippines, Ukraine, and Vietnam. The update is also available in Europe's Caucasus region. Both these regions are getting the update bearing firmware version G99xBXXSBGXEC.
In the US, the carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are getting the update with firmware version G99xUSQSBGXF1. The factory-unlocked units of the same phones are getting the new security update with firmware version G99xU1UESBGXF1.
The June 2024 security patch fixes 59 security loopholes found in Android and Samsung's One UI software on these devices. Don't expect to see any new features or performance improvements with the new update.

How to install June 2024 security update on your Galaxy S21?
If you have a Galaxy S21 series phone and if you live in any of the countries or regions mentioned above, you can check for the new update on your device. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy S21 was launched in early 2021 with Android 11 onboard. The devices in the lineup received the Android 12 update in late 2021, the Android 13 update in late 2022, and the Android 14 update in late 2023. They received the One UI 6.1 update a few weeks ago with a few Galaxy AI features.
