Industry sources have pinpointed another Samsung supplier for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldable smartphones. Samsung will reportedly acquire display protective films from the same supplier as it did for the previous generation of foldable devices.

Same supplier, similar production costs
These protective films go on top of the ultra-thin glass sheet of a foldable panel. Even though they come pre-installed, they're not to be confused with one of the primary layers that make up a Samsung foldable display. Protective films can degrade in time and are user-replaceable for the most part, but Samsung also offers replacement services.
Segyung Hitech is reportedly the sole protective film supplier for Samsung's foldable device division. Other components, like batteries, are acquired from multiple sources. The list includes Samsung SDI, LG Energy Solution, and ATL.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 should be equipped with a 6.7-inch Foldable Dynamic AMOLED display, and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will likely feature a 7.6-inch panel, although the aspect ratio might differ from the previous generation models.
Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 on August 10 during a hybrid Unpacked that should combine the best characteristics of online and offline events.
