People have just started receiving their Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 pre-orders, and Samsung is ready with a day-one software update. In some countries, both new Galaxy Z series foldable devices have started getting new software updates.
Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 receive their first software updates in some markets
The latest software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with firmware version F721BXXU1AVHH. In South Korea, the Z Flip 4 has received the update with firmware version F721NKSU1AVHI. In the US, the update has been released to the carrier unlocked model, and it has firmware version F721USQU1AVHH. Some units might come pre-installed with this new update out of the box.
For the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the update bumps up the firmware version to F936BXXU1AVHH in international markets, F936NKSU1AVHI in South Korea, and F936USQU1AVHH in the US (unlocked model). Both these new foldable devices are still on the July 2022 security patch, and we expect Samsung to update them with the September 2022 security patch within the next few days.
The update is around 370MB in size, and it brings better stability, performance, and bug fixes. How many software updates will Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 get?
Samsung has promised to support the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 with up to four major Android OS updates and five years of security updates. The devices are expected to get the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update by the end of this year.
