Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy A55, its latest premium mid-range phone. With this update, the Galaxy A55 has become the first Samsung smartphone to receive the July 2024 security patch.

This may also be the first update in many months for some Galaxy A55 owners. The A55 is eligible for monthly updates, but for some reason, Samsung has not been able to stick to that schedule.

The phone's support for seamless updates, which allow users to continue using the device while updates are installed, is supposedly one of the reasons, but that has not been officially confirmed by Samsung.

More on the Galaxy A55 July update after this video…

Coming back to the Galaxy A55 July update, it is available in India and sports the build number A556EXXS4AXF6. There's no telling when the update will go live in other markets, though we have our fingers crossed that it won't take too long.

For those wondering, the update doesn't bring anything but the latest security patch to the Galaxy A55. The July patch fixes 25 vulnerabilities discovered in Android and 33 vulnerabilities that only affect Galaxy devices, and you can read more about it by clicking this link.

To download updates on your Galaxy A55, navigate to its Settings » Software update menu and select the Download and install button. You can also download Galaxy A55 firmware from our website and use it to update the phone manually using a Windows PC and a USB cable.
