The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a really good camera, but some feel that Samsung isn't using the phone's camera hardware up to its potential. After launching the phone earlier this year, Samsung released a couple of camera improvement updates, and it is preparing to release another such update next month.
This update will reportedly fix a lot of minor camera-related issues on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Galaxy S24 Ultra camera will receive significant improvements with August 2024 update
According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, Samsung will release a big camera improvement software update to the Galaxy S24 Ultra next month. The August 2024 update for the phone will reportedly bring HDR, white balance, overexposure, over-processing, and video zoom performance optimizations. If these issues are resolved, the phone will offer improved satisfaction for existing users and be a better purchase for many potential buyers.
The tipster also revealed that Samsung has not improved the image quality for shots captured using the Galaxy S24 Ultra at zoom levels above 10x, whether in normal or night mode.
Currently, Samsung has really good-quality hybrid zoom for up to 10x zoom levels, but the algorithms struggle above 10x zoom levels. Hopefully, the South Korean firm will be able to improve that aspect of its flagship phone in the coming months.

Galaxy S25 Ultra could be a major improvement over the Galaxy S24 Ultra in terms of camera quality
Samsung used a brand-new camera sensor, a 50MP one, and paired it with a 5x optical zoom lens on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. That camera replaced the 10MP telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Extensive tests have shown that despite being a 5x optical zoom lens, the super telephoto camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra performs as well as the Galaxy S23 Ultra's super-telephoto camera, if not better.
The company is expected to bring major improvements with the Galaxy S25 Ultra next year. The phone is rumored to feature a 200MP primary rear camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
