Just a few days before the start of the IFA 2024 expo in Berlin, Germany, Samsung has launched its newest flagship washer and dryer combo in Europe. The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo is now available in Europe. The new washing machine was first unveiled at IFA 2023 last year and launched in South Korea a few months ago.
Bespoke AI Laundry Combo is now available in Europe
The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, Samsung's latest flagship washer and dryer combo, has been launched in Europe. It will be available for purchase in Q4 2024.
It combines the washer and the dryer into a compact body, offering an energy and space-saving appliance. More importantly, you don't need to transfer laundry from the washer to the dryer, saving you from additional physical work. It also adds advanced features like a heat pump and a huge touchscreen.
Its AI Wash & Dry feature uses a range of sensors and advanced AI-powered algorithms to detect the laundry load, the types of materials used by those clothes, and their soiled condition. It then optimizes the washing cycle for each load by selecting detergent and washing time. It also optimizes the drying cycle length and speed.
Samsung claims its AI-powered features allow the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo to save up to 20% more power than washing machines labeled with the A Grade. The heat pump inside this washer and dryer combo dries clothes efficiently, gently, and quickly at lower temperatures, keeping clothes in good condition for an extended period. Samsung says reusing hot air and reducing humidity lowers drying time by up to 60% and improves power efficiency by up to 75%. This method also reduces fabric shrinkage, according to Samsung.
It also features a 7-inch landscape touchscreen display that acts as a central control hub for the washer. It displays the following information:
- Energy and water consumption report (after finishing cycle)
- Laundry cycle details
- Remaining detergent
- Smart home device controls (like microwave and robot vacuum)
- 3D Map of home and smart home devices in the SmartThings app
It also features the upgraded version of Bixby, which can understand complex commands that include multiple commands in a single sentence. It is powered by a Large Language Model (LLM), so it can remember previous conversations and understand natural language more easily. It also has data from the appliance's user manual, so you can directly ask questions about the appliance's features, tips, usage recommendations, and answers for troubleshooting.
The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo has received the ‘Diamond' certification in IoT Security Rating by UL (Underwriter Laboratories).
