Samsung is developing Android 15-based One UI 7.0 for the Galaxy S21 FE, which will bring many new features to the smartphone. However, the release is at least a few months away. Until then, the tech giant is rolling out a small software update to the smartphone. It offers the September 2024 security patch that fixes 67 security issues.
Only the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy S21 FE, which has the model number SM-G990U, is getting the update for now. It has firmware version G990USQSCGXH1. We can confirm that the update is live for devices on DISH, MetroPCS, and T-Mobile. Samsung should roll it out to other variants of the smartphone in the next few days.

There are two ways to get the new firmware on your Galaxy S21 FE. First, by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Second, by downloading the firmware from the internet (it is available in our database too) and then using Odin to install it. Make sure to back up your data before you go ahead with the second process.
