Samsung was expected to release the One UI 7.0 beta update in late July 2024. However, the update was postponed after the company reportedly decided to work on the software longer to fix bugs. Now, it appears that Samsung is finally getting ready to open the One UI 7.0 Beta Program, as the company has released an update to the Samsung Members app.
Samsung Members app updated before One UI 7.0 Beta Program starts
The Samsung Members app is necessary to enroll in any One UI Beta Program, and Samsung has released a new update to the app. This could point towards the imminent release of the One UI 7.0 beta update. Version 5.1.00.11 of the Samsung Members app is now available on the Galaxy Store in India, South Korea, and the USA with a download size of 39.30MB.
While Samsung hasn't mentioned anything in the official changelog for the new version of the Samsung Members app, it is expected that it is a pre-One UI 7.0 beta release update, and Samsung could soon release its next big version of One UI for testing.
What to expect from the One UI 7.0 update?
One UI 7.0 is based on Android 15, and its design was leaked in previous reports. It appears to be a significant UI design overhaul, featuring new stock app iconography, a two-page Quick Panel layout, improved stock apps, and smoother animations and transitions. The upcoming update could also bring a new control area at the bottom of the screen, a pill-shaped UI for ongoing activities, a new battery icon, and a new charging animation.
A previous report also claimed that Samsung will revamp the UI design of the stock camera app for improved one-handed usage. The upcoming software could also include more widgets on the home and lock screens, a large folder option, and a new animation for screen unlock.
Thanks for the tip, Tarun!
