One UI 6 Watch update still not completely ready; expect delays

Samsung has been testing the One UI 6 Watch update for its Wear OS smartwatches for months, and the update is still not ready to be released. Earlier this month, the company released the fifth One UI 6 Watch beta update to its smartwatches, so we hoped that the company was close to being ready to release the stable update. But that doesn't appear to be the case, so you should expect a delay.

One UI 6 Watch update release may be delayed

When Galaxy Watch users asked Samsung's official forum moderators for an update on the One UI 6 Watch release, they explained that a few bugs still needed to be fixed and that they couldn't offer an exact release date. However, they revealed that Samsung plans to release the stable One UI 6 Watch update sometime in October or November. That is a delay of 1-2 months from the expected time frame.

The forum moderator apologized for the delay but said the company wants the stable update to be as free of bugs as possible. They said Samsung is continuously monitoring all the reported bugs and trying to fix them to make the software more stable. The update will be released to the following smartwatches:

    1. Galaxy Watch 4
    2. Galaxy Watch 4 Classic
    3. Galaxy Watch 5
    4. Galaxy Watch 5 Pro
    5. Galaxy Watch 6
    6. Galaxy Watch 6 Classic

The story continues after our Galaxy Watch 7 vs. Galaxy Watch Ultra comparison video.

The Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra are the first smartwatches in the world to run Wear OS 5 and One UI Watch 6. The new update brings Galaxy AI-powered health tips, more detailed sleep tracking, Energy Score, and more options for Modes and Routines. It also brings a new font, a new charging animation, Double Pinch gestures for quick actions, and ongoing activities.

The update also brings the improved Samsung Find app, an improved Weather app, custom workout routines, and support for Functional Threshold Power (FTP) for cycling. It also brings new designs for Tiles, including those for Alarm, Battery Levels, Calculator, Custom Workout Routine, Dual Clock, Sleep, Weather, Weather Forecast, and Workout.

    Thanks for the tip, Aptivi!
