Almost ten days after releasing a software update with the September 2024 security patch to the factory-unlocked and carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung is finally rolling out the same update to the international variants of the three smartphones, which have model numbers SM-G991B, SM-G996B, and SM-G998B.
The software updates for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra have the firmware version G991BXXSCGXH8, G996BXXSCGXH8, and G998BXXSCGXH8. The September 2024 security patch fixes 67 security vulnerabilities, making these devices more secure than before. Unfortunately, the new firmware doesn’t offer any new features or performance improvements.
The story continues after the video…
At the moment, the update is live in South American countries. We expect that Samsung will expand it to other regions, including Asia and Europe very soon. To get the update, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. We have made it available in our firmware section as well. You can download it from there and install it manually using Odin on a Windows PC.
You should also know that Samsung is developing Android 15-based One UI 7.0, which offers many new features and performance improvements. The Galaxy S21 series smartphones are among the ones to which the company will offer the new software. Expect the tech giant to release the stable version of it to these devices by the end of this year or early next year.
