After releasing the One UI 6.1.1 update earlier this month, Samsung has now released the September 2024 security update to the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The new update is available in most markets globally, including Africa, Asia, Europe, and the USA.

Galaxy Z Flip 5 September 2024 security update now available in several countries
The new software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is now rolling out with firmware version F731BXXS3DXI3. It is available in several African, Asian, and European countries.
In the US, the update is available for both carrier-locked and factory-unlocked variants of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The carrier-locked version of the device is getting the new update with firmware version F731USQS4DXI3, and it is currently available on Metro PCS and T-Mobile networks. The factory-unlocked version of the foldable is getting updated with firmware version F731U1UES4DXI3, which is available on all carriers.
This update fixes 67 security loopholes that were discovered in the previous software version. It doesn't bring any new features, performance enhancements, or battery life improvements.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 was launched in mid-2023 with Android 13 onboard, and it received the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update late last year. Now that Samsung appears close to opening the One UI 7.0 Beta Program, it is possible that Samsung will release the stable One UI 7.0 update within the next couple of months to the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
