We have a new YouTube video showcasing the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra flagship tablet. In it, we compare the performance of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra side-by-side and put the new MediaTek chip to the test.

Indeed, in case you missed the news, Samsung's latest Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chip. The switch from Snapdragon chips to MediaTek took almost everyone by surprise. Well, everyone except those who heard the pre-launch leaks.

Along with the removal of the base model, this new chip marks of the most notable changes Samsung made to its flagship tablet lineup this year, and it's worth a closer look.

So, how is life under MediaTek? How does the new Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra perform next to the already powerful Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip from last year? Surprisingly well, actually! Check our in-depth performance comparison below.

The story continues after the video

Even in our first hands-on video with the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, we noticed that the tablet performs very well, particularly when launching in and out of Samsung DeX. And the more we look at it, the more it seems like this MediaTek chip is worth its salt. Our latest tests solidify that the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is a beast.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC was manufactured by TSMC on a 4nm process. Specifications include one Cortex-X4 CPU core clocked at 3.25GHz, three Cortex-X4 CPU cores @2.85GHz, and four Cortex-X4 CPU cores @2.0Ghz. The CPU is paired with a 12-core Immortalis-G720 GPUP featuring ray-tracing capabilities.

But more than that, when Samsung revealed the Galaxy Tab S10 series, it said it worked closely with MediaTek to optimize the Dimensity 9300+ chip for its Galaxy AI platform. The Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra are the first Samsung tablets to ship with Galaxy AI out of the box, and Samsung wanted to get it right the first time.

The Galaxy Tab S10 series is available in some markets starting today, October 3. In others, it remains available for pre-order and should hit the shelves on October 10.
