Understanding and using Adaptive Sound on your Samsung TV

    Tips & Tricks

Samsung smart TVs boast an ingenious audio feature called Adaptive Sound. It comes in a few flavors, including Adaptive Sound, Adaptive Sound+, and Adaptive Sound Pro, and it improves the quality of your TV's audio thanks to Samsung's clever engineering.

Here's all you need to know about Adaptive Sound and how you can enable it on your Samsung TV, whether it's Crystal, Neo QLED, OLED, The Frame, or other lifestyle models.

    What is Adaptive Sound?

In short, Adaptive Sound analyzes audio content and the space around your TV in real time to optimize the audio experience and improve the sound in any situation.

Samsung states that no data is saved during the Adaptive Sound analysis, so you don't have to worry about privacy.

This feature works even when you don't use a soundbar. But depending on the quality of your TV's speakers, your mileage with Adaptive Sound will vary. Higher-end TVs will yield better results.

How to turn Adaptive Sound on

Using your Samsung TV remote, open the All Settings screen and navigate to “General & Privacy.” Then, access “Intelligent Mode Settings” and turn this feature ON.

Next, use the remote to navigate the menu and turn “Adaptive Sound,” “Adaptive Sound+,” or “Adaptive Sound Pro” ON. NOTE: You'll have only one of these options available, depending on the level of Adaptive Sound your TV is capable of.

If the Adaptive Sound option is locked/grayed out, it likely means that you are using an incompatible soundbar. However, the option will work with compatible soundbars, such as those from Samsung's Q-Symphony series.
