Did Samsung finally fix the foldable display crease? Come find out

The ever-present foldable display crease has been one of the weaker points of all foldable phones released over the past half a decade. It improved with time, and some OEMs do it better than others. Now, Samsung appears to have reached a new high with its latest Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, a.k.a. the W25 in China.

The crease on the new foldable devices is barely visible, as demonstrated by the short videos below featuring the Samsung W25 and the Oppo Find N3 (OnePlus Open) side by side — courtesy of @UniverseIce.

The source describes the foldable display crease on the Samsung W25 as very shallow and almost the best in the industry.

Whether or not Samsung had to let go of the S Pen to reach this level of smoothness for its display crease is unknown, but we hope the company will be able to deliver similar results next year for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Or, at least for one of the Fold 7 variants, seeing how Samsung is now developing two models.

Although many foldable phone users got used to the display crease over time, and many call it a non-issue, nobody would mind an improvement in this area.

Besides, the unusual crease has always been a weird topic of conversation with people who've never seen a foldable phone before but see yours first. Once they spot the crease, it often feels like some of the magic surrounding foldable phones dissipates.
