Samsung's The Frame TV gets collection of monochrome paintings

The Frame TV's Art Store gets monochrome paintings

Samsung has announced that it has added paintings from late master Park Seo-bo to the Art Store. They were known for their “Écriture” series paintings. Critics and art historians identify them as a leading Dansaekhwa (translated as monochrome painting) artist.

Park Seo-bo's paintings are usually inspired by nature and have intense colors and three-dimensional patterns. Their paintings are showcased in world-renowned museums, including the MMCA (National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art), Leeum Museum of Art, Samsung Museum of Art, and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

Last year, Samsung showcased Park Seo-bo's masterpieces on a 146-inch Micro LED 4K TV, The Wall, at the Rockefeller Center exhibition in the United States. The Art Store has over 2,500 pieces of artwork from world-renowned artists globally.

Yongsu Kim, head of the Visual Display Business Team at Samsung Electronics, said, “As a pioneer of Korean modern art, we are now able to showcase the masterpieces of artist Seobo Park, who led the change, through the Art Store. We will continue to expand various collaborations to provide Art Store users with a wide range of artistic experiences that cross over East and West, as well as modern and classical.“
