Samsung has announced it plans to enter the home heat pump market in the USA next year. The company will showcase two home heat pump indoor units and an outdoor unit meant for the US market at the CES 2025 expo next month.
Samsung's home heat pumps come with 7-inch touchscreen displays
Samsung will unveil the Home Heat Pump EHS at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, USA. With this move, the company plans to target the whole home air conditioning (AC), heating, and ventilation market in the USA. The company already sells heat pumps in 40 European countries.
The South Korean firm will introduce two indoor heat pump units—Climate Hub Mono and Hydro Unit Mono—and one outdoor unit, Mono R32 HT Quiet. The Climate Hub Mono and the Hydro Unit Mono have 7-inch touchscreen displays that Samsung calls ‘AI Home.' Both units feature a minimalistic design that blends well with your home's interiors.
Using those touchscreen displays, you can control product functions and other SmartThings-compatible smart home devices. You can set the optimal temperature in your home using its 3D Map View feature.
If you use a photovoltaic power generator, you can check the status of solar energy usage by linking the photovoltaic module to SmartThings.
The Mono R32 HT Quiet is an outdoor unit that blends well with the exterior of your home and doesn't look out of place. It can supply 70°C hot water and achieve that performance even in extreme freezing temperatures of -25°C. It has 10% higher efficiency than the highest-grade competitors.
Samsung says that its home heat pump's outdoor unit has a SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) rating of A+++ and uses the R32 refrigerant that has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 32% compared to the regular R410 refrigerant used in competing heat pumps.
